MAS has applied for charity status as a CIO. In order to provide a platform for sustainable change using art, a committee of Trustees has been gathered and the application for CIO status is pending. This is to ensure the vision as being a not-for-profit charitable project can be maintained as well as supporting other charities and artists. More details will be included upon completion of the application.
Artists will be invited to apply through an Open Call within a set time period. The cost of the open call application fee is small and to go towards covering the costs of running the project (see below). Artists will cover their own material costs and will be invited to produce anywhere from 1-10 artworks that are inspired by the different voices collated during the project. All copyright and ownership of the artwork is retained by the author/artist, but artists agree for MAS to share images the artworks for the duration of the project free of charge, as publicity for the artist. Artists also agree to have their artwork included in the intended book (free of royalties or rights of the book) with full artist acknowledgement. Sales of artworks and prints will be promoted through the MAS platforms with artists retaining the profits, donating 20% (in lieu of commission fee) to the MAS project and charities. The intended fundraising event aims to exhibit as many of the artworks as feasible, which artists will be required to provide their artworks in a professional format and be available to discuss and and present their work. The MAS project vision is set out as intended but retains the right to alter or amend should circumstances require.
Health awareness information will be included as part of the MAS project, to educate and raise awareness of important health issues. This is not intended to substitute as professional medical advice and people should always seek professional advice from their own GP/health care professional in the first instance. Volunteers are sharing their individual journeys and sensitivity and discretion is advised. Health videos by Dr Liz Murray are produced as entertainment and health educational/awareness videos. Liz is a registered, qualified doctor who left medical practice in 2023 to be a full time artist with a vision of using art to empower people with their health. All information is checked for medical accuracy but is not intended as a substitute for individual healthcare advice. Anyone with concerns for their health should always visit their own health care professional and no individual advice will be offered through this project.
