  • 100 Voices...100 women from across the UK have volunteered to share their story. Covering a wide range of women's health issues from cancer (primary and secondary), rare autoimmune and rare neuroendocrine conditions, to gynaecological diseases and fertility topics. These Voices become the central focus of our campaign. Their interview shared on our podcast which is available internationally on all major platforms.

  • 100 Artworks...Artists from across the UK have responded to an open call to produce a piece of art inspired by one of our 100 Voices. 20 selected artists will produce a range of artworks in all styles and mediums, each piece having a QR code that will link to one of the Voices. The artworks will come together at a big fundraising exhibition in Spring 2025.

  • Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, founder Liz Murray came up with the concept of 'Scars of Gold'. A powerful and captivating photography series using gold leaf to highlight the scars of the Voices to empower these poignant reminders of the journey and strength. In partnership with photographer Sam Weston this powerful collection of 100 Scars of Gold is an integral part of the campaign.

  • The campaign will share 2 voices each week from international women's day 2024 to IWD 2025. Across social media, online platforms, podcast channels these messages of hope, strength and health awareness will be amplified by the artworks. During the campaign the health awareness will be supported by signposting to the Spotlight Charities. At the end of the campaign the collection will be published in a coffee table book and exhibited at a fundraising exhibition in London 2025.

PODCAST

MORTAL AND STRONG - 100 VOICES

Every Voice is interviewed by Dr Liz Murray, the founder of Mortal And Strong with occasional guest presenters. We start with an ice breaker, before exploring who our Voices were pre-diagnosis. As we explore what their journey was we focus on where they found strength. Sharing what how they managed to still live well and navigate a world changed by life changing or incurable disease. We end by asking what advice they would give to others and end on the best question to close…’When you wake up on a morning, what brings you joy?’. Each Voice’s journey can become someone else’s survival guide. Sharing messages of hope and strength to empower and raise awareness.

100 SCARS OF GOLD

Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, this powerful photography series is a concept by Dr Liz Murray and produced with photographer Sammy Weston. Using real gold leaf to highlight the scars (both seen and unseen) by the Voices. Sammy’s ability to capture the raw vulnerability and impact of disease, but showing it as a thing of beauty and strength is astounding. The photography series is transcending the narrative and message of Mortal And Strong in a powerful component to the campaign.

100 ARTWORKS

From painting, mixed media, instillation and photography…these pieces will come together for a fundraising exhibition to support the Spotlight Charities. Exhibition London 2025.
